BiBi—A Brooklyn Bunny Tale

 The First Brooklyn Bunny Adventure!

This is BiBi’s tale...

The Backstory

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was enchanted by the softer charms—as well as the more gritty complexities—of her home town. She also loved rabbits. And art. And museums. And nature. And writing. When she was much, much older she decided to write a story. But what could it be about? Brooklyn? Rabbits? Why not Brooklyn AND just one rabbit? One very independent and adventurous rabbit. And that is how “BiBi—A Brooklyn Bunny Tale” came to be.

It’s lonely being the only bunny she knows...

Follow BiBi-a very independent and adventurous 'tween-as she explores many of Brooklyn's most interesting and exciting places in search of a rabbit friend. As she pursues her goal with persistence, determination and courage, discover how BiBi overcomes loneliness, fear and disappointment in her quest for friendship.

THEN… see what surprise awaits her when (and where) she least expects it!

In addition to the real places that BiBi explores, she must also navigate disappointments, loneliness and the challenges of facing her fears and being true to herself. This bunny has moxie!

As the chapters unfold, BiBi understands more fully the importance of family, friendship, exploration, independence, courage, curiosity… and perseverance.

"BiBi" was conceived as a beginning chapter book—a bridge between the illustration-laden storybook layout for young children and the text-heavy chapter book format tailored for older readers. Equally balanced between text and illustration, this tale challenges readers to learn new words, exposes them to a sense of local history, and introduces event sequencing in the form of short chapters that encourage anticipation of what might occur next.
